Live music is a large part of many an apartment-ite's life, and fittingly every major city seems to have at least one venue dedicated solely to bringing national and regional acts center stage. For Poughkeepsie, New York-area apartment-ites, that venue is, hands down, the Chance Theater.

Since its inception over twenty years ago, the Chance has been dedicated to providing Poughkeepsie residents with some of the best live music possible.

Huge names such as The Police, Iggy Pop and The Ramones have all graced the main stage, with contemporary favorites such as Gwar and Rob Zombie also making appearances on a regular basis. Comedians such as Gallagher and Doctor Dirty John Valby can also usually be found on the Chance's calendar, and the venue's expansive upper balcony area provides a great view of both the stage as well as the youngsters moshing it up in the pit area below.

For many apartment-ites on a budget, big ticket events may be limited to a 'once in a while' night out. Fortunately, the Chance Theater has every budget in mind. Recently expanding into three (!) additional smaller rooms, the Chance offers intimate, low-priced shows with rising up-and-coming musical stars every week. From the gritty punk raging of Club Crannel to the DJ dance-heavy vibe of The Loft, the Chance's myriad of entertainment rooms make it a one stop party labyrinth for any Poughkeepsie-area apartment-ite.
